25 Years of Welding in Warren, Michigan: The HotFab Story

HotFab Welding was founded in Warren, Michigan in 1999 by a family with deep roots in the trades. What began as a small welding operation serving local homeowners and contractors has grown over 25 years into one of Metro Detroit's most trusted custom metal fabrication and on-site welding companies — with over 2,000 completed projects and clients ranging from individual homeowners to industrial manufacturers.

In the early years, the work was primarily residential: handrails, gates, small repairs, and custom fabrication for homeowners in Macomb County. Word spread about quality workmanship and honest pricing, and the phone started ringing from commercial clients — property managers, general contractors, manufacturing plants, and auto dealerships — who needed fabrication and repair work they could count on.

By 2005, HotFab Welding had expanded into commercial and industrial fabrication, taking on structural steel work, mezzanine platforms, and large-scale custom installations that required more equipment, more planning, and more crew. The shop at 13118 E 9 Mile Rd in Warren became a full-service fabrication facility equipped for MIG, TIG, and Stick welding across steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

In 2012, we launched our dedicated mobile welding unit — a fully equipped truck capable of performing on-site welding anywhere in Metro Detroit and Michigan. This service addressed a clear need: clients with broken trailers, industrial equipment failures, and field installation jobs that could not wait for shop scheduling. Today, mobile welding is one of our most requested services.
